This group was set up to provide an outlet for musicians of all types to exchange ideas between themselves and maybe start/join other like minded musicians with a view to setting up bands/duos etc. A great place to meet others and start on the journey to something special. Get in there and do it, you won't regret! HV
Cornish Music Network
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cornish-Music-Network/118871801524002
The Cornish Music Network FB group was set up by Mr Gary Kennon, a music lover who is very supportive of live music throughout Cornwall. The way it works is so sinple, its brilliant! In a nutshell: Bands join the group and then forward their details of their upcoming gigs to Gary, who in turn ten collates all the gigs from all the bands and posts then in date order on the page. Bands can slo post their gig details direct for maximum exposure. It is a great tool for bands to source new venues, as well as giving fans of live music an extensive list of who's playing where, and when. If you're in a band or love seeing live music, you NEED to join this group! HV
The Guitar Doctor
http://www.guitardoctor.co.uk/
The Guitar Doctor in question is Julyan Wallis, a guitarist and guitar tech with 20 years experience. From carrying out a general service or wiring in new pickups to fixing a broken off headstock and carrying out resprays, Julyan is the guy for the job! His workshop is situated near Gulval, just outside of Penzance. Click on the link above to visit his main website. GuitarBroker.net
This site was created by guitar player and collector Gary Davies. Based in Saltash, he likes to buy, sell, trade guitars and established the website so other like-minded people could do the same. Gary is also a great supporter of live music in Cornwall & Devon and is a very pro-active member on the Music Mart FB groups. Visit the site and see what else is covered. HV
FretPoint
The FretPoint website was created by local guitar enthusiast Gary Moyle. Gary is very passionate about all things guitar related and set up the magazine format website to provide all manner of content from lessons, gear reviews, various guitar events/gigs and interviews with famous artists, his most recents ones being with former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick and virtuoso Andy Timmons. Gary has also recently brought Plymouth based session musician Michael Baugh on board to do some video reviews and offer some video packages 'in the style of..' various world famous guitarists such as Joe Satriani. Click on the link and see what the site has to offer.
Modern Music
https://www.facebook.com/ModernMusicTruro
Modern Music is one of the top musical equipment suppliers in the county and probably the whole of the South West. Based in Truro, they sell guitars, basses, amps, effects and also have a dedicated drum department. Proprietor Andy Pascoe is a great guy and really knows his stuff and is very helpful, as are all his staff. Pop over to their page on Facebook, or even better call in to their shop in Truro and say hi and maybe pick up a bargain while you're there!
RussAudio
https://www.facebook.com/pages/RussAudio/258730347512577
RussAudio is ran by Russ Fletcher at his home near Camborne. He is a very experienced electronics engineer who in recent months has began making a name for himself on the local band circuit for being 'the man' to go to for amp servicing, repairs and mods. He can also sort out wiring issues in guitars, effect pedals and carry out pedal modifications along the lines of the infamous Keeley and Anaolman Man mod kits. As well as amps, pedals and guitar electrics he can also fix your DVD's, CD's and other Hi-Fi equipment. Despite being always busy, he always tries to get the work turned around quickly to keep us muso's on the road!!
Bobby's Helmet (Rock Band)
Another local rock band, based in Helston Cornwall, who have become our rock brothers in arms! If High Voltage are well known for covering the classic rock, then these guys carry on from where we finish! Playing comtemporary and modern rock covers, their set features songs by such great bands as Incubus, Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam, Papa Roach, Audioslave plus the odd older song thrown in for good measure. In March 2013 Bobby's Helmet and High Voltage hosted the first Blue ANchor Charity Rock Night, raising £600 which was evenly split between the Help for Heroes and Brain Tunour Research UK charities. With the originally intention of it being a one off, it proved to be such a great success that we have decided to make it an annual bridging the gap between the Christmas/NYE celebrations and the 3 day Helstonbury Music Festival which is held in July each year. If you haven't seen them yet, check out there website for a list of upcoming gigs and check them out.
